Recidivism in Ottoman Criminal Law

The repetition of crime is a continuously developing phenomenon in criminal law for several years. Many theories have been introduced about the nature of the repetition, the types of it have been determined and the systems about the effects of repitition have been developed in years.This thesis involves the development of the repitition of crime in Ottoman Criminal Law. This development have been analyzed with respect to punishments given in case of repititon of crime, regulations in the classical era Kanunname and Tanzimat era penal code and the archive documents showing the applications of the regulations.
