Abstract (EN)

Tahir Harimi Balcıoglu is an intellectual who lived between 1893-1951 and wrote many works. He produced works in fields such as history, mythology, philosophy, mysticism, history, memoirs, novels and poetry, and published many articles in different journals. In this study, information about Balcıoğlu's life and works was given and his literary personality was enlightened based on his works. In the first chapter, information about the life and works of Tahir Harimi is given by using archival documents, the works of the author and other sources related to the subject. In the second chapter, Tahir Harimi's views on language and literature were examined based on his various writings. In the third chapter, Balcıoğlu's views on mythology were examined. In a framework evolving from mythology to literature-philosophy, the universe of meanings of existence, water, birds, trees and mountains has been tried to be determined. In the fourth chapter, there are the texts of Tahir Harimi's poems, both written in Ottoman Turkish in his memoirs and published in various journals. In addition, considering the autobiographical elements in his poems, the common themes between Tahir Harimi's poems and memoirs were tried to be determined. In the fifth chapter, Balcioglu's short story titled Mayasıllı Muhtar Kabak Ali, and his novels titled Gün Görmeyen Sokak and Konya Selçuki Sultanlari ve Batiniler are analyzed in terms of structure and theme. The appendix section, archive documents about Tahir Harimi's life and civil service and the cover pages of his works in writing includes. Again, here are the original texts and their transcriptions of an article written by the author containing autobiographical information and an introduction to a work that is not currently available. In addition, in this section, there are texts that can be considered as drafts of Gün Görmeyen Sokak and Konya Selçuki Sultanlari ve Batiniler and their transcriptions, which provide information about the people and events in these novels.
