Turkish clothes and finery in Ottoman imperiyal period painting art(1600-1700)

In the doctorate thesis on the subject ? Turkish Clothes& Finery in OttomanImperial Period Painting Art(1600-1700)?, 212 visual documents with figures werestudied and the outfits of the figures were analyzed. It was aimed to determine the 17th Century?s Turkish clothing type, cutting, material and decoration features.Outher outfits such as wool cloth, robe, robe(with broad sleeves), cardigan,caftan, long and short tunic, cape, kapanice, lady?s dress, shirt, inner shirt and inneroutfits such as shalwar, trousers, underpants, spat, socks, furbelow skirt wereestablished. These are dress models that were closed with assistant materialsthrough the waists. Sharp collar, fur collar, wide collar, ?O?, ?V?, ?U? collars wereused. There are samples where ?V? collar that is known today as American collar wasused with sharp collar. In the dress cutting under the waists the dresses werewidened with addings called ?peş?.In the arm cuttings, fake cuffs were used in the shape of short, long and on theback. A kind of fake cuff known as ?eagle wing? was also seen. Along with flat andpaterned fabrics, golden and Silver designed fabrics were used. As a linning materialfur, and as a closing material button was used. It is also determined woman and menwere dressed look a like but the hats. Woman?s hats were designed with more careand with different shapes. Men?s hats show a difference according to the titles. In the17 th Century Turkish dressing; shoes, slippers, high boot, bath clog were used asfoot dressings.As a result, the Turkish Clothes&Finery of this Period showed some similitarieswith the earlier periods.
