Özet (EN)
One of the effective elements in the formation of the struggles for the sakeof throne is the statesmen around the shahzadahs. These statesmen wereinciting them to ascend the throne. The difference between the Ottomanstatesmen who originated from the ?bey? (master) and the others whooriginated from the pickings were effective on the competition among them. This competition which were seen at the outset in the I. Murad epoch, acquired a new aspect in the Fatih Sultan Mehmed?s epoch. Fatih aimed torescue the state government from thair influence by doing away with theforemost of them. The only one who originated from the beys among theviziers was Karamani Mehmed Pasha. But in the throne struggle betweenthe II. Bayezid and Cem Sultan, these two elements had still a great role. While the Cem Sultan were supported by the bey originated statesmen, II.Bayezid?s supporters were the pickings. II. Bayezid?s ascending to thethrone and winning the struggle with his brother caused to increase theinfluence of the pickings on the state government. After the other states which were situated at west & east and assessthe Ottoman state?s extension as an important for themselves have a part inthese brother struggles, these struggles for the sake of the Ottoman thronebetween II. Bayezid gained new aspects. One of these states wasKaramanoğulları. Their ruler Karamanoğlu Kasım Bey was one of the mostimportant figures who has a direct influence on the development of theevents related to the struggles between II. Bayezid and Cem Sultan. Heintended to direct these throne struggles to wards Rumelia and by profilitingfrom the emptiness in Anatolia tried to regain the Ottoman lands which werethe former territory of the Karamanoğulları Beyliği. Therefore, KaramanoğluKasım Bey have a great part in the refuge of the Cem Sultan to the RhodesChevaliers and the formation of the struggle in Rumelia. But after the CemSultan?s captivitiy under the control of the European states, KaramanoğluKasım Bey?s hopes were disappointed.Rhodes Chevaliers were the most profitable state in the thronestruggles between Cem Sultan and II. Bayezid. Cem Sultan considered therhodes Island as a bridge to pass the Europe and continue his struggle inRumelia. But the Chevaliers saw the Cem Sultan as a captive that theycould use against the Ottoman State for their own benefit. The handing overof the Cem Sultan to the Pope and the edeath of the Hungarian KingMathias Korven who had really strived greatly for a crusade against OttomanState, obsructed the Hungarians to take other parts in the events. When the Cem Sultan had been taken to France, the king was XI.Louis. In spite of the Cem Sultan were in France, the king was not interestedin this matter. Some while after the louis?s death, VIII. Charles ascended theFrench Throne. The new king saw himself as the guardian of the Christianworld against the Turks he planned to arrange a crusade in person. But hehad handed over the Cem Sultan to the Pope according to the former treatyhe had signed with the Pope. The French King thought that if he arrange acrusade with Cem Sultan, that would be more effective and have muchrepercussions. So he arranged a military campaign over the Rome and gothold of the shahzadah. But Cem Sultan?s death just after he captured by theFrench King obstructed the French King to realize his dreams.
