Abstract (EN)

In this research, the effect of the Surname-i Vehbi Miniatures of the Muralist Levni of the Ottoman Miniature Art on the art education of the 7th grade students is explored.It is required that art should protect its core National values in order to improve and plant its roots not only within its own society but also in a universal basis. It is one of the functions of the education to ensure the accumulation and the continuity of the cultural heritage of a society. The Surname-i Vehbi miniatures of the Muralist Levni of the Ottoman Art are used in this research with regard to the notion that it would contribute to educating generations who claim their own cultural heritage and who know the history and the society of the cultural values that will be included in the art education.The practice of this research is conducted in 2 official schools, Gazi Elementary School and Kemal-Sabriye Ocakçı Elementary School in the city of Bartın, on 40 students who are currently in 7th grade. The students are divided into two groups as the experimental group and the control group.Preliminary test, final test, practice evaluation scale and process evaluation questionnaire have been used as data collection methods. Based on the collected data, the effect of the practices of the Surname-i Vehbi miniatures of the Muralist Levni on the 7th grade students? art education is interpreted within this research.
