A religious scholar in the last years of the OttomanEmpire and the first years of the republic: Ahmed ŞirânîEfendi (1879-1945)

Biography, narrating the lives of those who influence people in society and aiming to introduce these persons on the whole (his/her life, works, personality, world- view etc.), is based on an existing reality. Thereby, it introduces the person to the people in all aspects. This thesis is related to Ahmed Şirânî, an Ottoman ulama, on whom no detailed study has been conducted so far. The purpose of this study is to introduce Ahmed Şirânî, an important intellectual, thinker, and Islam scholar who has lived in the era between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey, and to present his works to the reader by examining them and their effects.
