Abstract (EN)
This study examines the linguistic impact of the Turkish Ottoman language in the Aleppo dialect during the Ottoman rule, the effects of which still exist until today. The study was based on an oral interviews with the people of Aleppo who live on the Turkish territory and in the city of Mersin in particular, that's due to the difficulty of going to the city of Aleppo under the current circumstances of the war today. But the choice of examples and vocabulary in the research was according to what they knew and used during their life in Aleppo, not according to what they have learned recently after coming to Turkey. Beside the oral interviews, we also relied on ancient sources written by native people from Aleppo, especially those written during the Ottoman advent to Aleppo and the Arab territories or during the Ottoman rule in Aleppo. These books are rich in Turkish vocabulary used in Aleppo at the time, particularly Khair ad-Din al-Asadi Encyclopedia, which is considered as a lexicon of Aleppo dialect, but part of these words have been vanished or rarely used today, and another part is still circulating on the tongues of the people of Aleppo in various categories of their talk. daily dialogues, proverbs, songs, movies and series, insults and others. This study is based on three chapters, the first chapter of which is a prelude to the research. It deals with a definition of the language and the dialect, the difference between them and the reasons for the emergence of dialects. We conducted a comparison between the Arabic and Turkish languages in terms of origin, structure and syntax. After that we targeted the dialect and its characteristics and the factors that prepared for its influence from the Turkish language. Then we moved to the second and third chapters to clarify this linguistic influence, we explained in the second chapter the impact of the Turkish language on the dialect of Aleppo grammatically and morphologically, and in the third chapter its impact in terms of vocabulary and meanings. Then we concluded the research and listed the sources and references that we used in our study.
