Ottoman-Venetian relations and Venice state archive "Carte Turche" Notebooks Catalogue (1702-1720)

In the introduction, the general situation of the Ottoman Empire in the first quarter of the eighteenth century is described, followed by an assessment of its relations with the Republic of Venice in the second chapter. Under the third heading, information is given about the method applied to the numbering of the documents cataloged and the documents are evaluated. The last section summarizes the documents in the aforementioned notebooks. This book will not only help researchers studying the importance of Mediterranean trade in the Ottoman-Venetian relations, the status of piracy and the North African Regencies (Algeria, Tunis and Tripoli) between the two states and their place in diplomatic relations, but will also provide a new perspective on the content of archival documents.
