Abstract (EN)

Key Words: Stainless Steels, GTAW, Shielding Gas, Mechanical Properties, Microstructure, Robotic Welding The aim of this study is the investigation of the effect of some welding parameters changed during the Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding process of the austenitic stainless steels; on the weld bead geometry, mechanical and micro-structural properties. In this study, AISI 304 type of austenitic stainless steels were welded by using the robot gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) in PA and in flat position. During the welding process, various welding speed, amber, shielding gas, linear and nonlinear, AC or DC were utilized. Various characterization techniques such as, tensile testing, bending testing and micro-hardness measurements were carried out for some of the workpieces. Parallel to these studies, microstructure was analyzed under different amplifications by using optical microscope and its pictures were taken. In the committed studies, the welding surface geometry was examined and the most suitable welding parameters to the food industry were determined. Also it was shown that the changed welding parameters affected the mechanical properties.
