General principles of hotel ligting and an assessment for hotel bedrooms

Abstract (EN)

The objective of this thesis is to determine general specifications of illumination principles pertaining to hotels and to realize evaluation based on the said principles regarding artificial illumination systems of bedrooms pertaining to elected hotels. The contents of this study, consisting of 6 sections, are as follows. In section I; the introduction to subject is made by determining the objective of this study. In section II; the points such as the designation of accommodation places and hotels, the classification of hotels and the historical development of the said hotels are discussed. In section III; the points such as the importance of illumination, visual comfort conditions to be provided, quality and quantity of illuminaton are discussed. In section IV; illumination control systems are discussed along with lamps and illumination devices to be used at hotels; besides, principles of illumination at hotels, input-verticalhorizontal connections, artificial illumination systems of bedrooms, dining rooms, meeting rooms are discussed. In section V; the artificial illumination systems of bedrooms pertaining to hotels are examined and these are also evaluated based on illumination principles.
