Abstract (EN)
This study presents the effects of the use of industrial automation technologies in order to reduce the product poor quality costs in the production of plastic parts in the automotive industry with a sample project. In the study, the structure of the industrial enterprises in the automotive sector was examined, and information about the plastic parts produced by plastic injection and their joining processes were given. Afterwards, a production process was developed by using up-to-date automation technologies apart from the conventional methods in the production of plastic parts, and this was compared with the production made with the traditional method. As a comparison, the problems and costs caused by the number of personnel, the cycle time depending on the operator, the number of faulty products and the assembly of parts are mentioned. In the study, the vision, added value, quality and most importantly profitability rates that industrial automation processes to be included in the plastic injection process will add to the business are mentioned. When the entire plastic part production process is evaluated, the effects of the improvements made within the scope of this study on quality and profitability are mentioned and exemplified by concrete projects. Information is given about the benefits of using industrial automation and ultrasonic welding together in plastic injection parts joining. As a result of this study, it was concluded that industrial automation provides great gains to the company and the sector in the short term with the improvements in the production process.
