Abstract (EN)
Children gain real experiences by discovering and associating their environment, the objects and ideas around them. Children spaces have an effective place for gaining these experiences. In addition, design set-up of children spaces covers children' ergonomic, sensory, perceptual and mental developmental dimensions. Since the learning medium and development of children is play, the subject area is play spaces; the more children encounters stimulation of different fields, the better they are supported by their environment and this improvement of diversity of learning and opportunities are encountered in play spaces. In this respect, the subject of the study is; indication of design dimensions of proliferating play spaces in various multi-purpose interior spaces emphasizing space- furnishings relations besides light, colour, texture and material on children development and their spatial perception. In accordance the study assesses; concept and theories of play, children' perception of play, type of play spaces, structured environment, spatial stimulation and experience which affects children' spatial apprehension through light, colour, texture and material. Afterwards a survey study is applied to evaluate design dimensions which were established to determine in the literature review and observational study around 60 play spaces to the experts of space designer and early child pedagogic'. So, the evaluation of the design process and criteria's to handle current state of play spaces. This evaluation is the assessment of disregarded requirements and criteria's of light, colour, texture and material in the play spaces. Therewithal research of design dimensions with experts of two different disciplines whom are spatial designer and early child pedagogic' which is a crucial issue because of the developmental contribution on children. Thus, the study will make an evaluation on all above mentioned argument. Key Words; Play Spaces, Structured Environment, Light, Colour, Texture, Material.
