From playwriting to staging: Körayak

A number of researches are being made on the development of Drama to attribute a function and value to it in today?s life.As long as these innovations are consistent and introduce an acceleration to Drama, they should,of course,be encouraged.However, fundamental characteristics of Theatre should not be ignored for the sake of making Drama common.The emulation of theatre to television and cinema is irrelevant due to its resources and is unlikely to succeed.In this study,the fulfillment methods of the direct and instant communication between the actor and the audience who make Drama unique are studied.Except for the drama methods under study, the structure of some ceremonies,as well, are under discussion in the sense that they contribute to the communication between the actor and the audience.As the result of these researches, the written form of the text called Körayak has been fulfilled.The idea of staging has been formed as a consequence of researches.Staging has resulted within a frame which makes use of traditional sources,which brings the actor?s existence right in front of the other theatrical elements and which has ceremonial qualities.
