Abstract (EN)

In the 21st century, the game is one of the activities that almost every age group spares time for. Gamification is defined as the use of game elements in non-game environments different from games. In this thesis study, it is aimed to develop an alternative system to the traditional homework methods that is compatible with the technological tools of the homework tracking system, which is created by using gamification components (badge, score, leaderboard, etc.). With this developed system, students can easily submit their assignments in the gamified homework tracking system. It is aimed at following up the assignments sent by teachers outside the classroom environment and giving instant feedback. In the conducted study, the design-based research method was preferred. The study was carried out with 50 7th grade students continuing their education in a secondary school in Hatay, affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, and 5 teachers working in the same institution. A semi-structured interview form was used for the data collected from the teachers. Data on students on the usability of the gamified homework tracking system was collected using the "web page usability" questionnaire. In the analysis made at the end of the study, the teachers stated that the gamified homework tracking system facilitates homework tracking and that the system is generally suitable for students. However, they stated that the user feedback given in the gamified homework tracking system is lacking and that the system would be more useful if different homework structures (video homework, online test) were added to the system. As a result of the examination of the answers given by the students to the questionnaire, it was seen that the gamified homework tracking system attracted their attention; the gamified web-based homework tracking system's working speed was good, and they were satisfied with using the system. It is seen that students mostly like the gamified homework tracking system, but some of the students who used the system for the first time have difficulties.
