Women in Turkish epics in Uzbek field

As is known, the epics are the deepest narratives of folk literature that exist from oldest historical periods and which are mostly human struggles. In this study, the female element in eleven epic, selected from the Turkish epics of Uzbekistan field, was examined. In these epics, social roles, character and physical characteristics of female heroes have been examined; The aim of this study is to determine the common and different aspects of Turkish female heroes with the heroes of the other Turkish tribes. On the other hand, while examining the female figure in epics, comparisons were made by giving examples from epics such as Gılgemesh, Oguz Kagan, Dede Korkut, Manas and Battal Gazi. Before examining the epics, the terms of family and women in the Turks, based on pre-Islamic and post-Islamic period, were systematized in the Turkish mythology and epics of women; thus, it was aimed to draw attention to the reflections of historical process on women's perception in epics. In this study has been based on the functional method which is included in folklore research methods and has been improved by anthropologists. The fact that the research is female-centered, which was necessitated the identification of different disciplines such as theology, psychology, sociology and cultural anthropology.
