Özet (EN)
This graduate thesis, titled "Dictionary Entries in the Uzbek Language Beginning with the Letters A and Ä", has set out to examine all dictionary entries under the letters A and Ä present in the Özbek İzåhli Luġati-I (A - R) Uzbek Language Dictionary (Moscow, 1981). This body of work is comprised of five sections, including the Introduction, An Analysis of Uzbek Vocabulary, Uzbek Lexicology, Conclusion, and Bibliography. The first section provides the reader with information about the thesis's aim and method, as well as notes about the transcription alphabet used. The main body of the thesis is comprised of the second and third sections (or chapters), which examine each entry thematically, and which also split those into various sub themes. All lexical entries under the letter 'A' (and Ä) have thus been categorized under appropriate sub headings. The penultimate or conclusion section provides a general evaluation of the previous two sections; and therefore in doing so, we put forth how the Uzbeks perceive their world alongside their wealth of culture through their mother tongue. The final section lists all of the references that were cited during the writing of this thesis.
