Determination of speacial education teachers' knowledge levels on the behavior intervention techniques that they frequently used during the therapy of their students

The aim of this research is to determine the knowledge levels of speacial education teachers on the behavior intervention techniques that they commonly used during the therapy of their students and to examine whether the demographic variables have effects on teachers' knowledge levels or not. Within the scope of research, data collected from 295 speacial education teachers from 10 different cities. The data is collected through Knowledge Test of Frequently Used Behavior Intervention Techniques (F-BIT) and Demographic Information Forms that are already developed, validity and reliability by the researcher. Later on, the data has been analyzed through descriptive statistical techniques. As for the results, lowest grade that is obtained from knowledge test was 5 and highest was 30 while the average was 21 and standard deviation was 4,74. During the research, it has been determined that knowledge levels of teachers are limited and gender does not have any effect on these limited levels. On the other hand, some demographic features such as age, working place, student types and ages, study areas and obtained trainings are concluded to have significant influences on knowledge levels. All the results have been discussed in the context of importance of behavioral intervention, current conditions and requirements of the process.
