Abstract (EN)
In this study, The relationship between depression, anxiety and stress symptoms and social support perceptions of parents with special needs individuals was investigated. The sample consists of parents of individuals with special needs between the ages of 0-18 who have a registered report in a special education and rehabilitation center in Tekirdağ. The Demographic İnformation Form, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) and Revised Parent Social Support Scale was applied to the participants in the form of a face-to-face questionnaire. Data analysed with SPSS 22.00. the results in the study are in the 95% confidence interval and it was evaluated with p<0.05 significance level. Frequency analyzes were performed to determine the distribution of the sample. Independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to test the differences between variables and in cases where the variables did not show normal distribution, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used. According to the analysis result, it was found that the depression, anxiety, stress symptoms and social support perceptions of parents with special needs individuals differ acording to the variables. There is a significant positive relationship between social support and satisfaction with social support and there is a negative relationship between social support and satisfaction with social support and symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress. Social support levels and social support satisfaction levels predict parent's depression, anxiety and stress symptoms. The data obtained were discussed in line with the findings and suggestions for future studies were presented.
