Perceptions of the staff concerning the basic educational activities organized for the private security staff

ABSTRACTPERCEPTIONS OF THE STAFF CONCERNING THE BASIC EDUCATIONALACTIVITIES ORGANIZED FOR THE PRIVATE SECURITY STAFFMurat SOYLUIn this study it is aimed to investigate the opinions of the staff about the basiceducational activities which implemented among private security staff.The private security and private security education institutes? ,which function as linkedto The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, personnel perceptions related to the basiceducation programs which they arranged for their staff has been negative in a commonmeaning.We can summarize the methods and techniques used in the research as:The basic education programs which the private security education institutes arrangedfor their staff were determined with regard to time schedule, comprehension, methods andtechniques, competency of the executors, application places and their contribution to theapplication by a survey developed by the researcher. That is to say, basic education isevaluated from the stated points of views.The information gathered from related literature, the points of views of the experts andexecutors consulted are the sources referred in ascertaining the validity of the survey.It was presupposed that participants answer the questions frankly and the survey wasconveyed. In conclusion these results derived:The duration of the basic education which is the cornerstone of private securityeducation should increase gradually, a demand analysis should be made before thecomprehension of education curriculum is formed, methods and techniques should meetcontemporary criteria, the relations between educator-trainer staff and the private securitystaff should be based upon sound foundations which allow them to establish reciprocalknowledge flow, knowledge and abilities learned should be introduced usefully in any spaceof life and contributably to vocational skills and accumulation as well as individualdevelopment and later deficiencies should be covered on the spot. Curriculum preparing ofbasic education should dealt with in every course semester and educational strategies shouldbe determined in conformity with this.
