Investigation of the relationship between the perceptions of organizational cynism and their organizational happiness and job satisfaction of teachers working in private schools (İzmir province case)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational happiness and job satisfaction levels of teachers working in private schools. The research was designed as correlatinoal survey. The data of the study were collected with the Organizational Cynicism Scale for Teachers, the Organizational Happiness Scale and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale. In the 2021-2022 academic year, 202 teachers working in private schools in the central districts of İzmir participated in the research. For the data analysis SPSS 22 was used in the research. As a result, it was found that the organizational cynicism, organizational happiness and job satisfaction levels of the teachers participating in this study were not high. When analyzed according to demographic factors, it was found that while teachers' perceptions of organizational cynicism differed significantly in terms of marital status, educational status, professional seniority and age group variables, it did not differ significantly in terms of gender and working time at current school. It was determined that the organizational happiness levels of the teachers differed in terms of the variables of marital status, professional seniority, working time in the current educational institution and age group, whereas organizational happiness did not differ in terms of the variables of gender and educational status. In addition, it was found that while teachers' job satisfaction differed in terms of marital status, professional seniority, working time in the current institution and age group variables, it did not differ in terms of gender and educational status variables. When the relationships between the variables were examined, it was concluded that there was a negative and significant relationship between organizational cynicism, job satisfaction and organizational happiness, while there was a positive and significant relationship between organizational happiness and job satisfaction.
