Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between organizational stress levels and occupational performance of teachers working at private schools. The research model is descriptive and comparative that was conducted by relational screening model. The population of quantitative research consists of private schools with primary and secondary levels in Efeler district of Aydın province for the school year 2018-2019. There are 239 teachers working at the mentioned 10 schools. The research has aimed to utilize data collected from the whole population rather than sampling and received feedback from 118 teachers. "Organizational Stress Scale" and "Personnel Performance Scale" were used in gathering data. Organizational Stress Scale, developed by Solakoğlu (2007), consists of 28 items and 5 sub-dimensions. These sub-dimensions are related to the nature of work, financial conditions, career advancement, promotion and support, managers and co-workers. Despite the insurance of the validity of the scale, the study investigated the confirmatory factor analysis after the data collection. The performance level of the teachers working at private schools was analyzed with the Personnel Performance Scale. The Personnel Performance Scale was developed by Sigler and Pearson (2000) and adapted to Turkish by Çöl (2008). In the statistical analysis of the data, parametric tests were used in case of normal distribution and non-parametric tests were used for non-normally distributed data. When the analysis of the participant responses was evaluated in the sense of the averages, it was observed that most of the teachers experienced moderate organizational stress. General organizational stress level scores were higher in the favor of women, married, master graduates, secondary school teachers and those who have been working for more than 6 years. The results of the study showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between organizational stress and job performance. Therefore, it is necessary to repeat the analysis by adding intermediate variables or reconstructing the research method and the techniques to identify main factor(s)that trigger both variables.
