The impact of the use of information technologies on employee satisfaction in private healthcare institutions

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the use of the Basic and healthcare information technologies by personel working in private healthcare institutions on employee satisfaction. The study consists of three sections. The first section covers the healthcare sector in general. The second section takes on the basic and healthcare information technologies employed in healthcare. The third section investigates the impact of the use of these information technologies on healthcare employees. This study includes private hospitals located in İzmir and Manisa. Survey technique is employed to collect data. Healtcare Information Use Questionnaire is applied to 409 employees. While evaluating the data; T-test, one-way analysis of variance and chi-square analys is were used in independent groups. According to the findings of the study, the computerized monitoring of processes such as treatments, diagnosis of the illnesses and the entry of the information of the patients who come in to get healthcare service bears importance for the subsequent applications. The required information related to patients should be presented to the administrative and healtcare personnel in short time and in a classified manner. This can be achieved using healthcare information technologies. The use of information technologies in private healtcare institutions contributes to the efficient and effective running of the processes by computerized monitoring of the business processes in hospitals. The result of the study indicates that the private healthcare employees are highly satisfied with the use of information technologies.
