Abstract (EN)

The Turkish Constitutional Court interprets the rights to protect private life in the individual application case law based on Articles 17, 20, 21, and 22 of the Turkish Constitution. The broad scope of the rights to protect private life has created a rich case law. The purpose of this research is to examine the individual application case law in detail and shed light on the forms of concretization of constitutional norms concerning the protection of private life. In this context, in the first part of the thesis gives an outline of individual application procedure. In the second part examines the arguments used to concretize norms concerning the protection of private life in the individual application case law with the help of methodological references. In the third part and in the following emphasizes the forms of concretization of rights concerning the protection of private life. The research carried out with the support of the project titled "The Impact of the Right to Individual Petition on Constitutional Interpretation, Interpretation of International Law and the Turkish Judicial System: A Comparative Analysis of the Judicial Patterns of the Turkish Constitutional Court Case-Law between 2012-2017" under the TUBITAK 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program.
