Examining the relationship between the emotional intelligence and computer game addictions of specially talented students

With the development and unavoidable progress of technology, it is seen that many students have easier access to technological tools and they are more skilled than many adults in terms of using technological tools. Awareness and awareness level of students regarding the use of technology continues to be investigated by many scientists. This study aims to examine the relationship between computer and internet use, which reaches the level of addiction, the interest and desire of users in technology, their motivation to play technology and computer games, and the emotional intelligence of gifted and talented students. The research covers the 3rd and 4th grade 200 students who are diagnosed with giftedness and talent, studying in the 2022-2023 academic year. The students included in this research were diagnosed with giftedness after passing the of the research, it was determined that as computer game addiction increased in gifted students, there was a significant and negative relationship with their emotional intelligence levels. It was observed that male students had higher computer game scores than female students, and it was determined that computer game addiction scores increased as age and class level increased. While computer game addiction scores increased in students whose technological product ownership was a tablet the emotional intelligence scores of students whose technological product ownership was a phone were determined to be higher.For this reason, it is thought that the results of the research will shed light on new research.
