Abstract (EN)

Yarn and yarn raw materials constitute the quality and performance of the final product in the textile industry. The most common raw material used in natural fiber today is cotton. In this study; in order to obtain a high quality and productive cotton, it has been investigated whether fertilizer used in cotton farming has an effect on fiber quality and yarn quality. In the study, the same type of cotton seeds were planted at the same time side by side in the same field and in one of the trial fields, fertilizers were used to increase cotton yield and quality, and no fertilization process took place in the other trial area. The cottons examined were seeded simultaneously, irrigated at the same time during the product cycle and harvested at the same time. The yield of harvested cottons, ginning performances and fiber quality characteristics were investigated at the same stage. From these two types of cotton fibers, produced with fertilizer and without fertilizer, the same number of yarns were produced in the same spinning mill with the same machines and equipment, and the quality of the yarns formed was tested, and the results were examined and the effects of the fertilizer on the fiber and yarn properties were investigated.
