Problems concerning the development of Arm beet Productions Cooperatives and a research

ABSTRACT PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARM BEET PRODUCTIONS COOPERATIVES AND A RESEARCH In this study, it was used methods of literature research, observation and interview. The steps of the research are as the following: 1. A literature research concerning cooperative organisation in general and in agriculture, the present situation and problems of arm beet productions cooperatives, has been realised for an analysis of the development of the above mentioned organizations. 2. Forms of inquiry adressed to managers and associates of these cooperatives were prepared and handed out in order to describe the present situation. 3. The obtained findings have been interpreted and improvements, proposed. This research, by revealing the present situation and the problems related to the development of arm beet production cooperatives, provides information about PANKOBİRLİK and dependent cooperatives. As a result of the research findings, it was made an appraisal of the situation in order to contribute to the acceleration of the arm beet production cooperative, agricultural cooperative movement and, in general, cooperatives in Turkey. In the research, questions concerning the aims of arm beet production cooperatives, their principles, whether they need state subvention, law regulations, indeficiency of production in the sector of sugar and the problems of price, the improvements for more productive cooperative movement, and the plans and projects were given, some determinations were obtained and it was tried to establish to what extent these projects were realized. In the region in which they were founded, the arm beet cooperatives produced a positive impression, in a high rate as % 85 of their associates, due to the decrease of the unemployment, increase of the income, procuring of the agricultural material, providing of beast kept for breeding, agricultural disinfection, and fertilizing. Such positive developments can be reached in the agricultural areas only through cooperatives. In this perspective, the cooperatives should be augmented for improving the living standards of the people of small income by informing the society. Unfortunately today, the cooperative movement is not managed in a conscious way. In addition to realize the necessary administrative, legislative and cost regulations, we need educated people specialized in the cooperative movement.
