Evaluation of the problems in educational institutions during the pandemic process

The aim of this study is to evaluate the problems experienced by the educational institutions during the Covid pandemic. The personal characteristics of the participants such as gender and branches constitute the demographic structure of the interview form. It was aimed to reveal the similarities and differences between the diversity of the problems experienced during the pandemic period. In accordance with the maximum diversity theory, the sample of the study consists of administrators, teachers and students in Bolu in the 2021-2022 academic year. Semi-structured interview forms were used as data collection tool. Both pre-prepared questions and additional questions were asked to the participant groups in order to obtain detailed information. The obtained data were coded and then themes were formed. According to the research findings; It was seen that the participants expressed similar problems with different complaints. The administrators stated that they prepared the curriculum according to the instructions of the Ministry, and that they were most affected by the constant changes in the decisions while preparing the curriculum. They stated the financial resources as the resources sent by the Ministry or as the resources were not used. Administrators and teachers stated the advantages of distance education as using time more efficiently, and teachers as training the curriculum. Administrators and teachers stated the disadvantages of distance education as the lack of participation in the course, and the teachers as the lack of a control mechanism. At the beginning of the pandemic, the participants experienced technological problems and the teachers experienced student-related problems. While the teachers said that they could do distance education to solve extra questions for willing students, they stated that they would not do it because the learning was not fully realized. It has been determined that the study is similar to the studies in our country and abroad. Suggestions have been made regarding the findings, especially for decision makers.
