Vitamin D receptor polymorphism and expression in pancreatic cancer

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study, to determine the relationship between VDR gene polymorphisms and pancreatic cancer via putting out the vitamin D receptor gene expression and polymorphism of tumor tissues of pancreatic cancer cases. In addition, it is aimed to prove the possible relationship between cancer development and the gene expression level with determining VDR gene expression levels in tumor tissue and normal tissue.Patients with pancreatic cancer who received surgery (n = 31) and as a control group first-degree relatives of not having cancer and healthy volunteers (control group, n = 31) were included in this study for comparison ofpolymorphisms. Tissues obtained from patients and blood samples from the control group were applied for DNA and RNA isolation, melting curve analysis was performed using the fluorescence PCR method.There was no significant difference between the two groups; pancreatic cancer group and the control group VDR gene BSM I polymorphism were compared according to G / G, G / A, A / A genotype frequencies and allele frequencies of G and A (p> 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups; pancreatic cancer group and the control group VDR gene Fok I polymorphism were compared according to C / C, C / T, T / T genotype frequencies and allele frequencies of C and T (p> 0.05). VDR gene expression levels were studied on normal and tumor tissue specimens taken from patients during surgery.
