Analysis of the leisure satisfaction levels of the high school student staying in dormitories (The example of Manisa city)

The aim of this study is to compare the leisure satisfaction levels of the students staying at high school student lodgings in Yunusemre district of Manisa in terms of pariticipation to the physically based recreational activities. The sample of the study consists of 113 students staying at lodgings in Manisa (Manisa High School of Sports, IMKB Vocational School forGirls, ReligiousVocational School, Vocational School of Health, High School of Tourismand Hotel Management, Science High School, SocialSciences High School and MOSTEM). "Let the Dormitories Come Alive, Let Everyone Do Sports" under the Project Call program 2018/1 of Ministry of Sports Ministry for high school student lodging residents. As data collection tool, "Leisure Satisfaction Scale" was used. In the analysis of data collected, frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation were used; and Paired Samples t-test and one factor MANOVA were used for independent samples. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient was measured as 0.96 forpre-test and 0.90 for post-test. It is concluded that the scores for LSS of the students participating in the activities regularly become significantly high. As a result, it is seen that the students do not have enough space to make use of their leisure in their lodgings; therefore, a clear majority has (sometimes) difficulty in making use of their leisure and they do not participate in after-school activities enough. In the light of this, it can be suggested that students can be provided with regular activities in their lodgings by organizing various leisure activity are as for student lodging residents.
