Abstract (EN)

As a result of the increase in world trade with the growing world population, there is an increase in the capacity of maritime transport, which allows the transportation of commercial products at a relatively lower cost. As the current capacity starts to become insufficient, there is an increase in the size and number of ships used in maritime transport. In this growth process that triggers each other, there is an increase in greenhouse gas and particulate matter emissions from ships. The purpose of the International Maritime Organization; is to minimize the damage to people, property, and the environment with safety, security, and environmental protection policies, and even to increase the efficiency of ships today. One of the measures taken within the framework of the rules regulated and put into effect in this context; is to encourage the use of fuel types and innovative machinery systems that limit greenhouse gas emissions from ships by imposing restrictions on the carbon-containing fuel consumption of ships. In this study, the transfer of wind energy, which is one of the alternative energy sources, to the ship propulsion system by an auxiliary system as an additional towing force is examined. When the systems that perform this energy conversion are examined; It is thought that the "Kite Assisted Ship Propulsion Systems" will have the potential to be used intensively in the future, thanks to their innovative structure, both because they are light in structure and do not occupy space on the deck, and because they have automatic control mechanisms thanks to today's technology infrastructure and its contribution to shipping energy efficiency is analyzed by considering different environmental conditions.
