Investigation on effects of parenterally given vitamin B complex on ruminal protozoa in cattle

Abstract (EN)

Choline is sometimes classified as a B-complex vitamin even though it does not satisfy the definition of a vitamin. As a supplemental source of B complex vitamins and complexed cobalt for use in preventing or treating deficiencies in Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Swine, Dogs and Cats. B vitamins play important roles, as a coenzyme, in the metabolism of carbonhydrate, protein and fats. Although deficiencies of vitamins of the B complex are not normally found in ruminants, it is generally considered that the rumen microorganisms synthesize sufficient for the host animals requirements. This study was held on 30 cattle between 6 to18 month of ages breeding in Afyonkarahisar province and around regions. Ten clinically healthy animals will be served ascontrol group animals. Animals were given 10-20 ml by intramusculary route B complex vitamins one times during 3 days to investigate of effects of it on rumen protoza. In this study, clinical (body temperature, pulse and respiration rates, rumen contractions etc.), hematological (total leucocyte count, erythrocyte count, hemoglobin and hematocrit measurements etc.) and serum biochemical parameters (aspartate aminotransferase, glucose, total protein, albumin etc.) along with status of rumen protozoa were measured in all the animals.
