Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to reveal the incidence of impulse control disorders in advanced Parkinson's patients using apomorphine. This cross-sectional study was carried out on Parkinson's patients who were 18 years of age and older, were 3 or more according to Hoehn and Yahr staging and were using Apomorphine, who applied to the Neurology Outpatient Clinic of Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine for their routine controls between 01 June 2021 and 01 June 2022. In order to reveal the prevalence of impulse control disorders in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease, a socio-demographic and clinical data form developed by the researchers using face-to-face interview technique, as well as the Minnesota Impulse Control Disorder Scale and Impulsive Disorder Questionnaire in Parkinson's Disease (QUIP) The prevalence of impulse control disorder in Parkinson's patients using apomorphine was 2.0% (n=1) for "gambling", 9.8% (n=5) for "sexual intercourse", 9.8% (n=5) for "shopping", and "eating". For "other behaviors", 9.8% (n=5), for "drug use" 7.8% (n=4), for other impulsive disorders 9.8% (n=5), for a total of 15.7% (n=8) was found. It was determined that the MMPI and QUIP scales showed good correlations in terms of shopping, sexual behavior and total scores. The data obtained from our study show that impulse control disorders come to the fore in younger patients (<55 years) and especially in the field of eating. It is important to follow up the impulsive disorders that affect the quality of life in Parkinson's patients and to make remedial interventions.
