Abstract (EN)

Digital technology with several enhancements in daily life also has brought security issues. People, to perform various operations in electronic media, have to carry some smart cards and also have to memorize the required passwords. Biometric characteristics such as Human Face, Hand Geometry, Retina and Fingerprint provide a distinct, unique natural signature of a person, will eliminate these problems.To be used in various applications, many biometrics technologies have been developed. The fingerprints do not change throughout the life of an individual so it becomes widely use Biometric identifier.In this Thesis, A Fingerprint Recognition Based Online Student Attendance Automation Software (FROS) has been designed and applied. Fingerprint sensor Terminals will establish in each classrooms with the connection of Automation system. The records of attendance of the students taken from the terminals, will run synchronize with the course program in this system. These records are processed by the software to produce meaningful results, such as instant & updated attendance report of students.A Fingerprint Recognition Terminal has been used with TCP/IP connection. First, the terminal has configured for use of attendance system. Then the enrollment process of Teachers and students will complete. After this preparation, the raw data from the terminals will processed with the software, developed in object-based and web-based. And the access of the software has provided to the authorized people.It has been observed that the problem of time attendance congestion and time use in attendance process will reduced by especially using mobile terminals in this automation system.
