Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the damage caused by parvoviruses, that are especially interested in the heart muscle of the puppy dogs, at the beginning of the disease and the condition of this damage after treatment with the help of some cardiac biomarkers (cTn I, BNP and NT-pro BNP) in serum. Animal subject of the research will be constituted of 0-4 months old (n = 35) and healthy (n = 15) dogs of both sexes, 50 in total numbers, which all have been brought to the Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Internal Diseases Small Animal Clinic with complaints of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Pre-and post-treatment Routine biochemical parameter changes will be evaluated after repeating blood sampling procedures in patients whose treatment applications are completed and clinical recovery is successfully performed; serum cTn I, BNP and NT-pro BNP levels will be determined by ELISA method. When the hematological parameters, urea and creatine levels were examined before and after the treatment, it was understood that the treatment applications were successful. It is observed that there was no significant difference in cTnI, BNP and NT-pro BNP and uric acid levels between the control, pre-treatment and post-treatment patient groups; and this result suggested that the level of myocardial damage in the patient groups was low. It would be beneficial to investigate the changes in cTnI, BNP and NT-pro BNP parameters with new studies with more dogs at different ages and at different disease stages.
