Abstract (EN)
The concept of transitional justice, which came to the fore with the end of the Cold War, was internationalized through the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia established by the United Nations, in the framework of the debate on the responsibility of the international community to protect human rights. Judicial and non-judicial mechanisms are used during the conceptual development of the concept. The mission of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, a judicial mechanism, will be laid out in all its dimensions as to how and for what purpose it was established. While examining the internal and external dimensions of the mission, the roles of local and international actors will be examined separately and the post-conflict transitional justice needs to be addressed. In this study, the legacy of the court, which is an international transitional justice mechanism, in the region and in the international arena will be evaluated.
