Abstract (EN)

In this study, mechanical and microstructural properties of laser welded austenitic stainless steel were investigated, as a function of laser welding parameters. Laser butt weld joints were made using a pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The pulsed laser seam welding process is controlled by a variety of parameters. These parameters are; pulse duration, pulse energy, welding speed, laser power, average peak power density. The effects of the main processing parameters especially on joint strength and weld quality were investigated. And also the weldability of austenitic stainless steel sheets in butt joint configuration by a pulsed Nd:YAG laser beam welding was examined. The results show that proper selection of the correct laser welding parameters improved the laser welded joints mechanical and microstructural properties.
