Abstract (EN)
In this study, Turdus merula (Turdidae) and Passer domesticus (Passeridae) from Passeriformes order were investigated karyologically by using the in vivo bone marrow culture technique, firstly in Turkey. Species were caught by nets that set up in picnic site of Sakarya University. Diploid chromosome number of Turdus merula was 2n=80. It was determined 1. and 2. macrochromosome pairs were submetacentric, 3. and 4. pairs metacentric , while that of 5., 6., 7., 8., 9. chromosomes of Turdus merula were telocentric. W chromosome was telocentric, while that of Z chromosome was metacentric. It was found that diploid chromosome number of Passer domesticus was 2n=76 and determined 8 macrochromosome pairs. It was determined that 1., 2., 6., 7. chromosomes pairs submetacentric, 3., 4., 5., 8. pairs were metacentric, 9. and 10. pairs were telocentric. Z chromosome was metacentric and W chromosome was telocentric.
