Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to analyze the technical issues from the view of the performer in the German contemporary composer Paul Hindemith's 1939 French Horn sonata. The work's musical analysis is presented in general and tonal aspects, taking into account the book "Ses İşçiliği", the Turkish translation of Paul Hindemith's "The Craft of Musical Composition". Fundamental aspects of the technical issues for performers are investigated and some other passages besides these fundamental aspects are specifically addressed. In the results section, findings about formal and tonal structure of the work are stated and in accordance with the opinions of instructors teaching French Horn in Turkey, suggestions are made about how the identified technical issues about breathing, intonation and timing can be solved.
