Abstract (EN)
The universal changes of the 20th and 21st centuries, intergenerational technological transformations, and the highly dynamic political and sociological changes in Turkey and the world have led to significant impacts. The effects of these two different centuries on the human factor, their reflections on social life and art, and the rapidly emerging art movements that follow each other are understood. Paul Klee, who lived in these dynamic periods, conveyed the importance of color usage in the art of painting through his works, lessons, and his developed color theory. In the rapidly changing and developing modern era, accompanied by the wars of the 19th and 20th centuries, he developed a non-conformist, abstract, and original expressive language. In this study, Paul Klee's color applications in abstract paintings are examined, aiming to inspire different forms of change and transformation in the language of expression in the art of painting. Abstract art and color are defined in detail. Colors are classified, relationships between colors are examined, and the diagrams and forms of color theories are explained. The color theories and theorist artists in the art of painting are chronologically explored within the Ancient, Renaissance, and Modern periods. Paul Klee's artistic understanding and color theory are evaluated within the modern era, and the color applications in his abstract works are scrutinized. The abstract works reflecting the artist's created color theory are shared with visuals and theoretically examined. Keywords: Abstract Art, Paul Klee, Color, Color Theory.
