Paul Scott and Cumbrian Blue's using with printmaking techniques

Today; printmaking arts are effecting many art departments. Arts such as Paint, Ceramic, Sculpture, Glass could combine their techniques with printmaking art technique and ultimately compose reformist modern art works. Especially ceramic artists use all techniques of printmaking. The artists that combined these techniques and shape elements of paint with ceramic form, composed semantic integrity on their artworks and enrichen ceramic art one of these artists is, an English, Paul Scott; has successfully applied his visual design by print techniques on broken ceramic plates that has historical value Paul Scott's colour Cumbrian blue(s) inspired from blue on traditional English and Chinese porcelains. Artist created collages with Blue-White ceramic plate patterns that has old historical value, and his own artworks, thus created new symbols with conceptual denotation. Cumbrian town where Paul Scott is living and English art insight affected artist's aesthetic, political attitude and artistic improvement. The created artworks got their values from perspectives gained by these life experiences. In this thesis study, the used ceramics which are contemporarily reinterpreted by Paul Scott are scrutinizingly surveyed. The interdisciplinary works of the artist enriches his works in artistic and technical way. The works in which environmental and social issues are subject of Paul Scott; using two art disciplines, ceramics and printmaking, necessitates a unique study. The written sources and information obtained from communication with the artist were the primary resources on inspecting his artistic approach and works.
