Abstract (EN)
Transportation economics and management are becoming increasingly important and growing. As in the rest of the world, different searches and new models are being examined in Turkey. Developing technologies should be used effectively in order to reduce carbon emissions in traffic. When the academic studies on this subject are examined, it is understood that the diversity of the studies in the literature is low and they are based on existing brands. Academic studies conducted within the scope of sharing economy have been examined and it has been evaluated that there is a need for new studies in which the transportation sector and sharing economy are handled together. This thesis is based on the hypothesis that the existing transportation system should be re-evaluated with the possibilities of sharing economy. Sharing economy is the sharing of goods and services that people own with others in order to use them efficiently, when they are not in use, and also to utilize idle capacity. As a result of this sharing, people can earn a financial or moral gain. The study focuses on shared vehicle applications. Transportation methods are divided into 4. The most preferred method of transportation in Turkey is road transportation. The study focuses on the adaptation of taxi and minibus systems to the sharing economy. The field research was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, reports and secondary data on the sector were analyzed. Previous studies in this field were reviewed. The cost model in Sayım's (2017b) study was identified and selected as a model for the field research. It was decided to conduct the field study in Istanbul, where taxi transportation is most active and where the most problems are reported. Semi-structured interview method was preferred to get an idea about taxi and minibus businesses, to understand the system and to observe the employees. By evaluating the data obtained as a result of the interviews, 4 model proposals for taxis and 3 model proposals for minibuses were created. With the development of shared systems in transportation, it will be possible to observe a decrease in the carbon emitted to nature in traffic and the need for people to purchase private vehicles. It can be said that license plate restriction practices and sharing models in transportation systems contradict each other. Therefore, applications are being developed to provide more vehicles that can operate legally in the world.
