Abstract (EN)

Since cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) which is accepted as the startpoint of modern cardiovascular surgery is used, depending lots of factors as a result of activation of systemic inflamatuar processes diffuse multiorgan dysfunctions can be seen in the organism.After starting cardiopulmonary bypass a complex and sophisticated inflamatuary process occurs. This situation is seen in childrens more frequently compared to matures because childrens immun system is immature compared to matures. Cytokines are important factors for activation of immun system in both children and matures. Systemic inflamatuary response can be activated by release of proinflamatuary cytokines like interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor alpha. Using of steroids ,which are known as antiinflamatuary and have a broad use of this property for many years, depresses inflamatuary process by many mechanisms.The aim of this study; evaluating relation of preoperatif steroid use and interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis alpha levels, postoperative extubation time if sterodis have antiinflamatuary affect or not.Key Words: Congenital heart disease, Cardiopulmonary bypass, Steroids, Tumor necrosis alpha, İnterleukin-6, Cross clamp time.
