Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study to evaluate the effect of common erosive acids on bonding of PEEK and PEKK with composite. For each group 10 specimens were prepared from PEEK (bredent, Germany) and PEKK (Cendres Metaux, France) discs for immersion to different solutions (Distilled water, hydrochloric acid, citric acid). Each sample sandblasted with Aluminium oxide particules under 0,2MPA pressure for 10s then conditioned with Visio.link primer. All specimens cemented with Crea.lign(bredent, Germany) composite. For 1 litre of %5 (pH 2.13) citric acid solution, 10 gr of citric acid added to distilled water. For 1 litre of 0,06M (pH1,2) hydrochloric acid solution, 5ml hydrochloric acid (pH 0,6) added to distilled water. Before measuring pH value of solutions, pH meter were calibrated with pH value 4,01 and 7 buffer solutions. For each group(n=10) specimens immersed in different solutions 6 times per day for 8 days in 37℃ 5 minutes. Specimens were submitted to shear bond strength testing. Statistical analysis was done by two-way analysis of variance, Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test (p<0,05). The highest shear bond strength observed on PEKK control group (15,6±0,6) and the lowest is PEEK hydrochloric acid group (8,2±1,0) Erosive cycling can adversely affect microleakage and shear bond strength of composite resin bonded to PEEK and PEKK Keywords: polyaryletherketone, Citric Acid, Hydrocholic Acid, Shear Bond Strength
