Abstract (EN)
Aim: Pemphigus is a chronic and progressive autoimmune disease group characterized by the development of vesicles, bullae and erosion areas on the skin and mucous membranes. Studies have been reported showing that pemphigus negatively affects the quality of life of patients. In addition, there are studies stating that the risk of depression is increased in pemphigus patients, but there are not enough studies examining the effects of the disease on anxiety, social phobia and sleep quality. The aim of this study is to compare pemphigus patients with each other and with the normal population in terms of dermatological quality of life, presence of depression, anxiety, social phobia and sleep quality. Material and method: 50 patients and 100 healthy control groups who applied to the clinic were included in the study. Sociodemographic and disease-related data, PDAI, DYKO, ABSIS, Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory(BAI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale(LSAS) scores of the individuals were recorded. The results were statistically analyzed with SPSS 24 package program. Results: 76% Of the patients were with PV, 16% with PF, 4% with pemphigus vegetans, 2% with PE, and 2% with PNP. Oral mucosa involvement is present in 54%, facial involvement is present in 32%, and genital mucosa is present in 8% of the patients. The mean PDAI score of the patients was 23.6±28.2 and ABSIS score was 29.3±34.3. BDI, BAI, PSQI and LSAS-total anxiety and LSAS-total avoidance scores were found to be higher in the patient group than in the control group(p: <0,001; 0,004; <0,001; 0,001; 0,001; respectively). A positive correlation was found between the PDAI scores of the patients and the DYKO, BDI, BAI, PSQI, LSAS-total anxiety and LSAS-total avoidance scores(r=0,857 p<0.001; r=0,792 p<0.001; r=0,728 p<0.001; r=0,622 p<0.001; r=0,659 p<0.001; r=0,705 p<0.001; respectively). A positive correlation was found between the ABSIS scores of the patients and the DYKO, BDI, BAI, PSQI, LSAS-total anxiety and LSAS-total avoidance scores(p<0.001; r=0,748 p<0.001; r=0,668 p<0.001; r=0,617 p<0.001; r=0,696 p<0.001; r=0,749 p<0.001; respectively). Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was determined that the depression, anxiety, sleep quality and social phobia scale scores were higher in pemphigus patients compared to the healthy control group. In addition, as the severity of pemphigus increased, it was determined that depression, anxiety, sleep quality and social phobia scale scores increased.
