Effect of shear wall ratio on the force distribution in structures

Abstract (EN)
The shear wall ratio (p) has an important role in determining the structural system. In DBYBHY-2007, the ratio of the shear force of the walls to the base shear force was used to determine the structural load-bearing system, while in TBDY-2018, the ratio of the moment formed at the base of the walls to the total overturning moment created by the earthquake loads at the base of the building is used. In this thesis, the effect of the shear wall ratio on the force distribution of the building is emphasized. 8, 16 and 24 storey reinforced concrete frame and flat-slab systems were analyzed with the SAP2000 program, with (p) 0.5%-1%-2%-3%. For the same shear wall ratio, the wall lengths are modeled as Lw 1,5-2-3-4-5 metres, and the effect of the lateral stiffness provided by the walls is taken into account. While the same structure with high ductility level is in the wall-frame structural system group according to DBYBHY-2007, the carrier structure system in many models is classifıed as framed system according to TBDY-2018. In this direction, while there is a high shear wall ratio in the buildings and these shear walls meet the shear force significantly, it has been observed that the lower limit condition for the moment ratio given for the frame-wall systems given in TBDY-2018 could not be reached. Therefore, it has been observed that it would be more accurate to determine according to the shear force while classifying the load-bearing structure system.
