Abstract (EN)

Since the situation of titanium, the main material of the implants, can be reflected from the gingiva in the area of bone resorption and implant-abutment connection, particularly in areas where the buccal bone is insufficient in the anterior region is rather difficult to compensate, researchers have focused to find new implant material that is aesthetically compatible and an alternative to titanium which have a very high osseointegration capacity. The use of ceramic implants can be considered as an alternative to titanium. Zirconia ceramics have been shown to have several advantages over other ceramics owing to their mechanical properties, that is, high fracture toughness and bending strength. Platelet products contain platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), insulin-like growth factor (IGF), fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) in significant amounts. The most recent of these platelet products is the Concentrated Growth Factor and has attracted considerable attention in recent times. Concentrated Growth Factor, obtained via centrifuge of venous blood at variable speeds, exhibits a wider, denser and more effective regenerative capacity with growth factor rich structure than thrombocyte rich plasma. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of the application of the Concentrated Growth Factor and bone grafts on bone regeneration in different-type implant materials with peri-implant bone defects. Newly formed bone, which is around zirconium-dioxide and titanium implants, in the peri-implant defects with and without the Concentrated Growth Factor is histologically and histomorphometrically evaluated.
