Abstract (EN)
Thesis study contents the investigation of weave parameters on physical and mechanical properties of woven fabrics containing PES/Vis/Lycra® weft elastane yarns. The parameters have been determined as weave type, weft number and density. From this point, the fabrics were woven in seven different pattern constructions with four different weft densities using two different weft in count. The fabric properties to measure have been decided as dimensional stability, sanforization test and fabric shrinkage after washing, weight, density, weft yarn crimping and the width and thickness variations of fabrics. Additionally, fabric breaking and tearing strength, elasticity and extensibility have been subjected to testing in order to evaluate and compare the behaviours of fabrics. Moreover, warp tensions have been measured under running conditions of the loom, considering that the tension variations affect the quality of fabrics and weaving performance or efficiency. Hence, the relationship between the tension and weaving parameters determined has been given on the base of this study. On the other hand, the data obtained was analysed statistically to carry out the importancy of weave parameters on fabric properties and warp tensions. Speciality of the thesis was the investigation and analyzing of the functional relationship between the fabric properties, all mentioned above, which could be measured or tested and the numbers of interlacing points of yarns in a unit of fabric area (i.e. the area of 1 cm2) which could easily be counted or determined for weaving/woven structural parameters. Important and successful evaluations have been drawn out of the study. The overall results with their discussions have been given in the related chapters.
