Özet (EN)

ABSTRACT Master Thesis DECREASING FRICTION LOSSES IN PETROLEUM PIPE LINES Tarkan KOCA Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Mechanical Engineering 2001, Page:74 In our days, pipe lines or pipe systems for are used for transferring fluids. The design systems is very important in order to obtain the most efficient work. "Energy losses " are very high in such systems. In order to minimize these losses, in addition to classical methods, special chemical are also used. Energy losses along the pipe lines were investigated theoretically and experimentally by adding different rates of polymer chain chemical articles to the fluid. In the study, Energy losses along the pipe were presented and the methods of decreasing the energy losses were investigated. The effects of the addition of polymer chemical articles which do not effect the flow on effectiveness and economy were studied.. As a result, it as observed that adding some chemical articles to petroleum increased the volume rate about %8 in pipe lines. This study was supported by FÜNAF under the contract of 465. Key Words: Petroleum, chemical agent, frictional loss, energy
