ABSTRACTMASTERS THES SDESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A PIC CONTROLLED UPSMehmet ÜSTÜNDAĞFirat UniversityGraduate School of Natural and Applied SciencesDepartment of Electronic and Computer Education2006, Page:50In this thesis, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) which supply a sensitive load for a limited timeduring the line energy break up was investigated. The realized UPS for supplying the load, when theline energy is break up, was designed off-line structure. The main aim of this thesis was improving theswitching time of the UPS. For this purpose, the realized UPS was controlled with microprocessor.The system is composed of six main stages. These are rectifier, battery, DC-DC converter, inverter,transition switches and microprocessor control unit. The experimental results showed that the systemhad the expected properties.Keywords: Uninterruptible Power Supply, Rectifier, Converter, Inverter, Microprocessor.
