Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the linear stress and displacement analysis of orthotropic laminated composite plates, made of carbon fiber- epoxy resin, with having various number of pin holes (with one hole, with two holes, with four holes) under constant tensile load. Composite plates which have the stacking sequence of [02/45/02/-45/902]s and approx. 65 % fiber volume fraction has 2,5 mm thickness. All plates were subjected to 11 kN tensile load. Three different figures with different numbers of pin holes were determined. First one was with one pin hole. The quantity of the different geometries investigated for this figure were 12 which consists of 2 different hole parameters (The ratio of ?edge distance? to ?hole / pin diameter? E/D:2,3,4 ; the ratio of ?width of the plate? to ?hole / pin diameter? W/D:2,3,4,5). The second figure was with two pin holes. The quantity of the different geometries investigated for this figure were 36 which consists of 3 different hole distance parameters (The ratio of ?edge distance? to ?hole / pin diameter? E/D:3,4,5 ; the ratio of ?the distance between upper part of plate? to ?hole / pin diameter? K/D:2,3,4 ; the ratio of ? the distance between two holes ? to ? hole / pin diameter ? M/D:2,3,4,5). The last figure chosen was with four pin holes. The quantity of the different geometries investigated for this figure were 27 which consists of 3 different hole distance parameters (The ratio of ?edge distance? to ?hole / pin diameter? E/D:2,3,4 ; the ratio of ?longitudinal hole distance? to ?hole / pin diameter? F/D:2,4,6 ; the ratio of ?transverse hole distance? to ?hole / pin diameter? G/D:2,4,6,). Maximum stress around pin hole, maximum displacement around pin hole and maximum displacement along length of the material were calculated for orthotropic laminated composite plates for 3 different geometry series and the results were compared with aluminium isotropic material which was applied the same conditions as composite plates by using ANSYS 10.0 finite element analysis program. Key Words : Carbon fibers, composite materials, stress analysis, displacement analysis, finite element
